"You know there’s a problem; when the average person has little control over what goes into their body. Something had to change."

The environment and global warming...
With a steady income and direct feedback from consumers, farmers can reinvest in sustainable, soil-friendly practices. This means less dependence on harmful chemicals and industrial farming methods.
To top it off, Your Farmer offers a certification scheme designed to help farmers become the best ecological stewards of their land.
Sustainable farming practices
Healthy food starts from the ground up—literally. The key to nutrient-rich produce is a biologically diverse soil.
The beauty of healthy soil? It’s a win-win for the environment. Instead of harming the planet, it actually helps heal it.
By prioritising biological systems and soil health, farms can lock more carbon into the earth. These thriving soils act as carbon sponges, pulling CO2 out of the air and storing it where it belongs.
Soil health improvement
Direct farm-to-consumer connections mean fewer middlemen and shorter supply chains, cutting down on transportation emissions.
Our ProCryo technology takes it a step further—fewer deliveries, more convenience for you, and a smaller carbon footprint to boot.
Reduced transport emissions
Supporting local, diverse farms helps protect biodiversity and preserve natural habitats—key players in regulating the climate.
Our farming methods are built to stand the test of time. By boosting farm biodiversity, we eliminate the need for harmful chemicals, keeping both our produce and the environment clean and healthy.

Meet Mel and Dave: Founding Farmers
David and Melissa Savill are the heart and soul behind Your Farmer, one of the pioneers of paddock-to-plate that's been revolutionising the way Australian's access quality beef since 2011. With roots running three generations deep in farming, David and Melissa have seamlessly blended time-honoured agricultural wisdom with innovative thinking to create a service that truly puts families first.
From drought to delicious... the birth of Your Farmer
OUR STORY
Your Farmer took root after the harsh 2008 drought, when rebuilding our herd came with a bitter truth: the market wasn’t rewarding our hard work. We were raising top-notch cattle, only to be left with spare change while supermarket prices stayed the same. The system was beefed up for everyone except the farmers and the families they fed.
Inspired by the documentary The Real Dirt on Farmer John, we asked: Why not bring a CSA model to Australian beef? That lightbulb moment gave us the courage to invest in our farm, fine-tune our ecological practices, and focus on cattle breeds known for superior meat quality—even if they didn’t fit feedlot standards.
And thus, Your Farmer was born.
Starting small, we hoofed it around town, leaving letters in mailboxes to gather our first subscribers. From those humble beginnings, we’ve had the pleasure of watching families grow alongside our farm, raising cattle that take time to become truly nutrient-rich, not just fattened up fast.
OUR approach
Shifting to this model was no walk in the pasture. We had to rethink everything to keep the beef flowing and make our soil thrive. Enter ecological farming—a holistic, ethical approach that feeds the earth while feeding people.
But we’re not just about growing great food. We’re growing a community. By sharing our know-how with fellow farmers, we’re empowering others to cultivate the land in ways that are sustainable and rewarding. Our loyal subscribers make this vision possible, giving farmers the security to invest in their soil’s future.
OUR LEGACY
As Australia’s first online paddock-to-plate subscription service, we’ve been carving out this path since 2011. We've worked to bring the farm right to your front door. Through our CSA model, customers sign up for regular subscriptions, ensuring their fridges are always stocked with monthly deliveries straight from the paddock.
Our legacy is built on grit and gumption. Over the past decade, we’ve fine-tuned our process, built relationships with our customers, and constantly improved the quality of what we serve up.
Our Mission
At Your Farmer, we believe the traditional food chain is broken—it serves wholesalers, supermarkets, and butchers, but leaves families hungry for real value. We’re here to flip that script.
We carefully select both our own cattle, and other farmers, to deliver meat with less fat but a whole lot more flavour and nutrition. By selling directly to families, we cut out the middleman, build real connections, and get to hear firsthand how we can make our product even better.
