Can I buy half a cow from Your Farmer?

Yes, the Beef Your Way option lets you buy a half cow, quarter cow or eighth cow direct from the Savill family's Southern Highlands farm. You choose how it's cut (steak thicknesses, roast sizes, mince and sausage portions) and we ProCryo blast-freeze and vacuum-seal every pack so it stores beautifully in your freezer.

How much freezer space do I need for half a cow?

A full cow is roughly 160 kg of cut, packed beef, half is half of that Nyooooom. You'll need big chest freezer. An eighth fits in a standard kitchen freezer with some rearranging. Your Farmer half a cow packs are also packed with ProCryo, let us freeze it properly.

Where can I buy half a cow near me in NSW or ACT?

If you're inside our 150 km Southern Highlands delivery footprint, Greater Sydney, Wollongong, Nowra, Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Southern Highlands, Goulburn or Canberra, Your Farmer delivers a half cow direct to your door. Same own-van delivery as our regular CSA shares. We don't ship interstate.

How is buying half a cow cheaper than buying cuts individually?

You pay a per-kilo price across the whole carcass instead of premium-by-the-cut. A half cow works out at around $26 per kg averaged across all cuts, that's premium steaks, roasts, mince and sausages combined. Buying the same volume by the cut would cost roughly 20% more. The trade-off is upfront cost and freezer space.

What cuts come from a half cow?

Its basically equivalent to two full rotations of our CSA Full Share (like getting 2x of boxes A,B,C and D). You choose the cut breakdown, more roasts and less steak, more mince, however you eat.

How long does half a cow last in the freezer?

Properly stored at -18°C, ProCryo blast-frozen vacuum-sealed beef keeps at least 12 months without quality loss. A family of four typically eats through a half cow in 6–10 months. The vacuum seal stops freezer burn so the last pack tastes as good as the first.

Why buy half a cow from a Southern Highlands farm specifically?

Every animal is raised on biodynamic, ecologically certified pasture, audited against eight measurable outcomes.
