Product FAQs

What variety of potatoes are in the seasonal box?

Whatever's in season at Musset Holdings, typically a mix of waxy varieties (Kipfler, Pink Eye, Nicola) for boiling and salads, and starchy varieties (Sebago, Dutch Cream) for mash and roasting. The exact mix changes through the year. Each box ships with cooking suggestions for the varieties inside.

What does "regenerative potatoes" actually mean?

Grown in living soil that's getting healthier with every crop, not depleted by it. Musset Holdings use cover crops, mineral cycling, no synthetic fertiliser and no fungicides. The soil is tested for biology (the bacteria, fungi and microorganisms that make nutrients available). Regenerative potato farming is potato farming that builds soil instead of mining it.

How are eco-grown potatoes different from supermarket potatoes?

Three things. (1) Living soil, denser flavour, better starch profile. (2) No synthetic fungicides, supermarket potatoes are typically sprayed both in the field and post-harvest. (3) Variety, most supermarkets stock 2–3 generic types; we ship whatever the farm's growing best that month. The flavour difference is the easiest to spot.

How long do regenerative potatoes last?

Stored in a cool, dark, dry place (not the fridge, that turns starches to sugars and changes texture), eco-grown potatoes keep 3–4 weeks. They're not washed in chlorine like supermarket spuds, so they keep their natural protective skin coating intact. Don't store with onions, both spoil faster.

Can I add a 3kg potato box to my meat box delivery?

Yes, produce ships in the same esky as your meat box. Add at checkout or log in before cut-off. One delivery, one fee.
