Fill the freezer once and eat well for months. Your Farmer® bulk beef and lamb comes from named family farms: a quarter, half or whole cow, or a whole lamb, frozen and delivered to your door.
How much meat you get
A quarter cow is about 36 to 40 kg of packed meat. A half is about 72 to 80 kg and a whole cow about 144 to 160 kg, with every cut in there, from mince and sausages to the best steaks. A whole lamb is about 22 kg carcass weight, which packs down to roughly 18 kg of cuts, plus the bones if you want them. You pay one price for the whole animal.
Cut your way
A half or whole cow and a whole lamb are cut the way you cook. We ask how you want it when you order. A quarter cow comes as our standard mix of cuts. A whole lamb usually gives 2 leg roasts, 16 loin chops, 16 forequarter chops, 8 chump chops, 16 cutlets, 2 racks of ribs, 4 shanks and about 2 kg of mince, plus bones for stock.
How it arrives
We process each order on demand, so allow two to three weeks from order to delivery. That covers hanging the beef, butchering, vacuum-sealing and ProCryo blast-freezing. It arrives frozen, and at minus 18 degrees it keeps for at least 12 months.
Freezer space
A whole lamb fits most kitchen freezers with some rearranging. A quarter cow needs about 70 litres. For a half or whole cow you need a chest freezer.
Not ready to fill a freezer?
The beef share is like half a cow, in instalments: grass-fed, grass-finished beef, a box at a time, and you can skip, pause or cancel anytime.
